Our strategy has identified four business areas with significant development opportunities.

Energy Technology 

There is a lot of exciting activity within energy technology, and the region can benefit from many years of experience for further development. Sunnhordland has world-leading test facilities related to green energy carriers and conducts full-scale tests related to hydrogen and ammonia, among other things. And in Kvinnherad, a new and innovative green industrial park with great potential for potential investors is now being built.

Marine

The marine sector is the region's largest industry. Sea fishing and aquaculture have long traditions here, and the players are known for quality, innovation, and prudent operations with good results. Nevertheless, the marine sector has a large potential for further development, and Invest in Sunnhordland will contribute to this work.

Bioeconomy

The bioeconomy is a relatively young industry in Sunnhordland. Here we see great potential and growth opportunities based on existing expertise, geography, and infrastructure. A new biogas plant and several in the pipeline are examples that this is an industry in rapid development.

Offshore Wind 

Sunnhordland has areas very well suited to the sea. There are good sea depths, a short distance to the North Sea, and no bridges or high-voltage lines that hinder the easy transportation of offshore wind turbines to and from the site.
